Don Muncy is a veteran of over 30 years of development experience encompassing staff and management positions in Washington, D.C. and abroad. He began his career as the Lebanon Desk Officer, in the Middle East Bureau, at the US Agency for International Development (USAID). Subsequently he served in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Philippines, and 23 Sub-Saharan African countries. Tours in USAID/Washington included two years working on bilateral donor and multilateral banking matters, and 4 years as head of the Africa Bureau Democracy/Governance Office. In 2003, he served on an interagency advisory group that included DOD, Department of State, USAID, and other USG departments. In 2009, Mr. Muncy served in several senior roles including two years in Afghanistan and as the “Afghanistan/Pakistan Hands Program Coordinator.” Subsequent to that assignment, he assisted the Bureau of Food Security in the organization of the first worldwide workshop on President Obama’s “Feed the Future” initiative, involving 10 US Government Departments and Agencies and 19 countries worldwide.
